Advanced Accounting-AUGDEC2021

This course covers critical areas in financial reporting from an International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRSs) perspective. It focuses on the preparation and presentation of financial statements that comply with IFRSs. The candidate should have passed Foundations of Accounting 1 & 2 (MAC 101 & MAC 102) and Intermediate Accounting 1 & 2 (MAC202 & MAC203). Areas covered include; recognition, measurement, presentation and disclosure of non-current assets (IAS 23, IAS40, IAS 16, IFRS5, IAS 36); business combinations and consolidated financial statements for groups of companies (IAS 27, IFRS 3, IFRS 10), investments in associates and joint arrangements (IAS 28, IFRS 11) and Assorted financial reporting issues [Operating Segments (IFRS 8) , Disclosure of Interests in Other Entities (IFRS 12), HyperInflationary Economies (IAS 29), Effects of changes in Foreign Exchange Rates (IAS21)].
